Our Mission

Our mission is to naturally redefine luxurious sleep. Through education and demonstration we will raise the awareness of sleeping with silk. Using only the finest Mulberry silk, we will provide the healthiest and highest quality products for everybody to enjoy.

Meet The Team

Laura Appleton

One night, I slept under a silk-filled duvet. The next morning I knew, without a doubt, that if we all slept better, the world would be a better place. And so Silk Concept was born.

High-quality sleep is essential to our physical, mental and emotional well-being. Look, we spend one-third of our lives in bed. By making sleep as restful and as healthy as possible, who knows how much more we could accomplish? This is the kind of challenge I've been training for all my life. And that's why, together with Kim, I'm on this quest to improve our world by improving our sleep.

Kim Appleton

Life is adventure. I grew up competing in sport, which taught me to believe in myself, push myself, and go for the win. I've worked with investment bankers in London, as a lifeguard in Southern California, a ski instructor in Banff, a forest firefighter in Northern Ontario, and a tree planter in Northern BC. Most recently I spent two years as program director of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs here in Vancouver.

My current adventure has become my passion: changing the worlds' sleeping habits via our amazing duvets. Together with Laura (my partner in life as well as business), I help educate people about the gorgeous, highest-quality, mulberry-silk filled duvets that we provide. Truthfully, it's not a tough sell - who doesn't agree that silk is the dreamiest of fabrics?
